Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!

I have attempted all morning to get my two year old to say it, with no prevail. He just keeps saying, “No it’s not!” Ok, I guess he isn’t the romantic type like his Daddy. (shhh don’t tell him I said that). He has joined the rest of the 60% of people who don’t like this ‘love’ day.

We are at an all time high of funnies in this house, at the moment. I know soon Buba will be older, wiser and these entertaining moments will subside but until then I am franticly trying to keep up with them all here. At least we know when he runs out of them, it will be time for Missy Moo to start chattering. I look forward to the many mini conversations they will have together.

If it’s your first time here, welcome to Phrase Day Friday, where each week I share the crazy conversations of my two year old. If you have been here before, thanks for coming back!

Last week, was a gut wrenching conversation between Buba and Granny, if you missed it, check it out here. This week, Buba has been full of a cold which caused him to get accidentally inappropriate, bless his innocence.

Setting the scene: At the lunch table, Missy Moo is quietly eating her rice cake, Buba is finishing up his sandwich and broccoli while I sit in between them sipping my coffee.

Buba: “Mommy I want sex!”

Me: spitting my coffee out, choking, coughing, and almost fainting, “What did you say?”

Buba: “I want sex, Mommy, pwease?”

Me: I was flabbergasted, after minutes passed, “Point to what you want”.

Buba: “Sex, pwease, there.” pointing to the kitchen and sniffing his snot back up into his nose. (I know, gross, but setting the scene again. lol).

Me: “You mean SNACKS”, the light finally coming on.

Buba “pwease, sex, ya”, shaking his head up and down in agreement.

Glad we weren’t in public for that one, as it took me forever to figure out that this poor congested little boy was trying to say snacks not sex. All bunged up, it was impossible for him to pronounce his A’s.

I still don’t get why he is always saying, “ya” at the end of his sentences either. It’s like he is answering his own questions all the time. “I play cars, ya?” and “I eat chicken, ya”. The list is endless and you can guarantee a head nod, and a “ya?” at the end of each one.

“Boys will be boys,” what a great saying. I have a ton of brothers so I know how right this statement is. Buba is definitely the more softer boy thus far, he is very sensitive, and skittish. I swear he is scared of pretty much everything but when it comes to bodily functions, he is as much as a boy as any!

Me: “Did you poo-poo?”

Buba: running from me, shouting, “No, I, tooting.”

Me: “Well, say excuse me.”

Buba: “It stinky!” giggling uncontrollably.

Me: “Don’t be gross.”

Buba: “gross, gross, gross.”

– returning to play with his cars, as I play with Missy Moo on her play-mat. A second later he looks up at me…

Buba: “Mommy, poo-poo?”

Me: “No.”

Buba: “Missy Moo, poo-poo?”

Me: “No.”

Buba: “Mommy, I poo-poo!” proud that he faked me out with a toot.

I can’t tell you the number of  times he has lifted his leg, tooted, and laughed hysterically over it. but it was the first time he ever said, “I’m tooting”. It was no big deal to him, like he was telling me, “I am playing, Mommy.” Where do they learn these things? Adults don’t do it, well some do, but it’s not like they can follow by example. So I have concluded mother nature makes boys be boys!

Does your tots say funny things, or do funny things? Have you over heard a funny conversation between your kids? I would love to hear them, comment below.

    • It’s so much fun watching your little one learn their language and mess it up along the way. You will have a lot of laughter from it. I can’t wait till Missy Moo starts talking and the two of them have funny conversations.
