When it comes to cocktails sometimes I am oblivious on what to order in a restaurant or bar. My mind goes blanks or I am stuck undecided. My first problem is the pressure to quickly order when I don’t know what’s on offer and my second is that I don’t like drinks that are strong tasting. I like fruity, light, fizzy or creamy drinks that taste more like desserts than just a plain drink and I think that’s why I prefer to make my own cocktail recipes at home. I have time to taste test what I like and what I don’t like as much as play around with various flavors together.

We have teamed up with 31DOVER.COM before to try some new recipes for the holidays. They have never let us down. It’s October and what better thing to celebrate coming up for the adults is Halloween as much as it’s for kids too. Who doesn’t love a Halloween Adult Cocktail, I mean Costume party? Don’t lie!

Halloween Cocktail Inspiration

We were sent this delicious Mozart Chocolate Cream Pumpkin Spice liqueur to test out. I had never had it before so I was keen to try a small sip and see. It was creamy but not heavy and the hint of chocolate with the pumpkin spice is right up my street for flavor. At first, I thought to pair it with coffee for a more subtle recipe but it’s not Christmas it’s Halloween and therefore I went for a Halloween inspired Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Martini. Drizzling that chocolate syrup, pouring that heavy cream and dressing it up with cinnamon sticks and star anise for the perfect combination.

Halloween Treats For Hungry Guests

While I am all about the cocktails, you can’t have a party without some tasty snacks. You could go all out on the Halloween theme with Candy Corn Brownies, Halloween snowballs and Halloween snack mix. Or if you are serving your pumpkin spice cocktails at a fall party but not fully embracing Halloween then you could serve some of my other popular party foods.

What Is In A Pumpkin Spice Martini?

For me, the key to a good cocktail is to keep it simple. I don’t want to be spending ages making up fancy drinks, I want them to be minimal effort but still have the wow factor. The key ingredients in a pumpkin spice martini in my house is the pumpkin spice chocolate cream. It has most of the pumpkin spice flavouring for the cocktail, and then I can just add double cream and chocolate syrup to make it more decadent, and a star anise and cinnamon to garnish.

Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Martini As A Dessert

This cocktail, for me, is like a delicious dessert to sip on. The flavors like a macchiato mix as you sip it each time. Sometimes you get a stronger chocolate taste and sometimes the pumpkin spice is overwhelmingly tasty. The cream calm the two strong flavors together making the perfect Halloween cocktail.
